Over 3,000 days of expertise delivered, enabling over 100 organisations and teams to strengthen cyber resilience

London, April 7th, 2025 – Since February 2022, Methods Analytics has dedicated more than 3,000 days of support and development time to advancing Autonomous Resilient Cyber Defence (ARCD). Our work spans three key ARCD workstreams (PrimAITE, Imaginary Yak and Yawning Titan), with impact extending across Tracks 1 and 2 of the programme and adoption by over 100 organisations and teams.

Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (DSTL), funders of the ARCD research programme, praised the Methods Analytics team, stating:

"I mention regularly how proud I am of all your work on these (PrimAITE/Imaginary Yak) and I love the statistics of how widely they have all been used and the great work they have enabled. As well as your expertise across the teams, I think it’s really important to draw out how you have worked. In particular, how responsive, flexible, and pragmatic you’ve all been in delivering these valuable tools at tremendous pace to enable others to deliver too.”

Driving Innovation in AI-Powered Cyber Defence

Methods Analytics has designed and built Imaginary Yak, the highest fidelity ARCD environment for training AI-driven cyber-defensive agents. This groundbreaking platform enables contributors, stakeholders and other users to work with collaborators and was extended to support experiments where both attackers and defenders are AI models, allowing for advanced cyber resilience testing.

With a multi-disciplinary team, we have leveraged a diverse skill set to ensure maximum impact across ARCD initiatives. Our expertise has led to the development of Yawning Titan's Community of Practice, and in Q2 2025, we will be launching a similar group for PrimAITE, fostering collaboration and innovation in AI-driven cybersecurity.

Open Collaboration & The Future of ARCD

The latest release of PrimAITE now supports extension via plugins, thanks to the team’s exceptional effort engineering effort. Through the Community of Practice, we envision a growing and rich ecosystem where contributors across defence, academia, and industry can build and share plugins, expanding PrimAITE’s capabilities and impact, thus, making PrimAITE bigger than the sum of its parts..
