Simon Swift Managing Director

Simon is the Managing Director of Methods Analytics, he is focused on improving the use of information so decisions are based on evidence rather than anecdote and whim.

Simon leads the business, and supports product development and consulting projects with a thorough understanding of the possibilities afforded by modern data science methodologies. His domain knowledge covers NHS policy, data and the healthcare information landscape together with the realities of clinical practice.  His approach is driven by the focus on developing meaningful intelligence to enable understanding, debate and change. Simon initially worked as a junior surgeon in the NHS for 8 years before retraining in Health Economics and Health Policy.

Marc Tallentire Head of BIaaS

Marc is a Deputy Director overseeing the consulting arm of the business and is also heavily involved in business development, delivery, and operations.

He has worked in the health analytics industry for the past eleven years in both the UK and Canada on a diverse range of projects. More recently Marc’s focus has been on developing our Business Intelligence managed service: Technical Advisory and requirements gathering for local and central government, implementation and on the ground delivery of large change programmes.

Prior to consulting, Marc worked for the Canadian Institute for Health Information analysing national health databases for annual hospital performance reporting.

Adam Buckley Chief Technology Officer

Adam is Chief Technology Officer for Methods Analytics.  He has worked for over 20 years in the IT industry delivering a range of systems from mobile apps to large scale distributed systems to a number of key markets including Finance, Manufacturing and Healthcare, joining Methods Analytics from the Health and Social Care Information Centre.

Adam’s responsibilities include managing both the Development and Infrastructure teams within Methods Analytics.  Taking an agile development approach, we work mainly with Microsoft SQL Server, Tableau, and Ruby on Rails.  Our infrastructure expertise covers both Cloud (mainly Amazon Web Services) as well as on-premise and hybrid private cloud solutions.

Richard Oakley Head of Analytics

Richard is a self-professed analysis geek and an unabashed advocate of data-led decision making, leading our analytics team.

He’s been involved in a huge variety of projects in a wide range of sectors doing full-stack development from technical architecture through to data visualisation, interpretation and presentation.

These days he is most likely to be found involved in our healthcare or public-sector work focusing on predictive analysis, modelling or applying AI techniques to solve complex problems. He is also our internal director for the work we undertake with the NHS Improvement GIRFT programme, drawing on his extensive healthcare experience to help them deliver their agenda of clinically-led improvement.

Simon McInerney Head of Information Services

Simon has extensive knowledge of working across both public and private sectors and has been involved in analytical roles for 20 years.  Since graduating with a PhD in Mathematics, Simon has carried out analytical projects on behalf of the MoD, Cabinet Office, Home Office, and the NHS as well as private sector organisations.

Simon is passionate about improving healthcare through the use of analytics.  He has a range of experience in the NHS, working for North Yorkshire and York Primary Care Trust, the North East Strategic Health Authority and Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS FT prior to coming to Methods Analytics in 2013.  Simon has extensive knowledge of Analytics, Informatics, and evidence-based decision-making in healthcare.  He has a proven record for delivering large scale projects, transformation and process improvement.

Currently Simon is responsible for heading up the Information Systems team at Methods Analytics.  With his highly developed information management skills, Simon plays a leading role in the development of information systems to support the improvement of performance across organisations, and delivers accurate and insightful information analysis to clients.

Oliver Bailey Head of Digital Services

As Head of Digital Service for Methods Analytics, Olly oversees a portfolio of client facing digital projects and solutions that deliver analytics and information to end-users.

A key advocate for the uptake and rollout of Agile development within analytics, Olly is always keen to provide Agile coaching and mentorship to clients for use on projects. An experienced BI professional with over 10 years experience working with public and private sector organisations to create meaningful business change using data and analytics.

Paul Molyneux Head of Population Health

Paul leads our Population Health service. He is an experienced healthare data scientist, leading the development of the population health management concept and developing the analytical tools, techniques and outputs required for delivery.

He leads the team, engaging with clients and designing solutions. The purpose is to enable users on the ground to understand the strategic and operational opportunities available to improve quality and efficiency of care, with a focus on impactibility and change.

Simon Jones Director of Data Science and Population Health

Simon’s time is split between Methods Analytics and his role as a Professor at New York University Medical School. Simon is a widely published health care statistician and uses his extensive experience in data analysis and health informatics to conduct research on health systems, studying how patients access health care, as well as healthcare quality and outcomes.

Starting out as a social worker, from 2002 to 2005, Simon was the head of Health Informatics and Operational Research at Bromley Hospitals National Health Service Trust in the United Kingdom. He became a research fellow at King’s College London in 2007 and a research professor at the University of Surrey in 2011. In 2012, he was appointed Chair in Healthcare Management and Policy at the University of Surrey.

Previously Simon served as professor of epidemiology and head of the Integrated Care Division at the University of Surrey and as Chief Data Scientist at a commercial healthcare data analysis company. He is also a visiting senior fellow in health services research at the London School of Economics

Julia Sharman Director of Sales and Marketing

Julia leads sales & marketing for Methods Analytics, she is focused on growing the business and reputation of Methods Analytics to place it as the Industry leader in Health Informatics and extending the use of information across private and public organisations inside and outside of healthcare.

Julia brings both NHS and commercial experience in health informatics, clinical pathway redesign and management consultancy applying an approach that is driven by the use of meaningful intelligence to enable understanding, debate and change.
